The Divine Good, being omniscient, can never forget. But as Good Being, chooses to not remember, letting-go of condemnation in the face of honest repentance.
When we forgive ourselves for our actions–for all we have done that we should not have, for all that we have not done that we should have–that response let’s us re-member our broken humanity, re-collect our dissipated care, and re-commit to loving struggle.
Forgiving is forgetting the behavior after your self-reflection allows for genuine contrition.
You will remember but maybe—in belief of the Good Life—you also will overcome the regret that brings despair.
