A new study reveals that immigrants’ contributions to Medicare generated a $115 billion surplus from 2002 to 2009. I am glad to see a study was at last accomplished to demonstrate what common sense should already have postulated. If you know a) most immigrants are young & healthy enough to do labor and b) illegal immigrants cannot benefit from the funds they have paid into social security or medicare, then why would you conclude they are a drain on social programs rather than a boon?
