Adding Color To The Most Iconic Photos In History | The Roosevelts

I usually don’t go in for the colorizing of B&W. This is probably a holdover of when the fad was colorizing films, some of which directors had purposefully chosen to do in B&W as an aspect of the film.

But looking over these, which were mostly in B&W because realistically that was the de facto medium… well, some of them are pretty intense.

This touch of Lincoln… it makes him more human somehow. Like, wow… there is a guy who was just a guy but he shouldered so much. Don’t want to fetishize or apotheosize him here. In fact, as I am attempting to say, the colorizing brings him back to earth, to us.
